The problem isn't knowing. It's making it work.

You probably already know what you want more of. More focus. More presence. More uninterrupted time. More control over when you're available and when you're not.

The difficult part is everything that comes next.

  • What happens to WhatsApp?
  • How do people reach me?
  • Can I keep my number?
  • What about Waze?
  • Banking?
  • Travel?
  • Work?
  • Two-factor authentication?

That's what Flip for Life is here to solve.

There is no one right phone.

Five real approaches. Different people genuinely need different setups — that's a feature, not a gap.

Find My Setup, in short

What do you actually need?

We start with your life, not with a phone. You tell us which of these genuinely need to be available while you're out. Most people are surprised by how short their real list is.

The little things are usually what make this feel impossible.

Search for the thing you think you cannot live without your smartphone for. We've written the practical answer.

Evidence

What happens when constant access is reduced?

Emerging experimental research suggests that reducing constant smartphone internet access can produce meaningful benefits. The evidence is early and the effects vary between people, but the idea is not folklore.

Randomized controlled trial · 2025

Blocking mobile internet for two weeks

Castelo and colleagues, published in PNAS Nexus, asked 467 participants to block mobile internet on their phones for two weeks. Calls and texts still worked. The study reported improvements in sustained attention, subjective well-being, and mental health among those who complied.

You don't need to know how to do this yet.

You just need to know what you want your relationship with technology to look like.

Less distraction. More presence. More life.
